AI Prompt Library ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application and services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: Email address, name (optional), and password (encrypted)
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe (we do not store full credit card numbers)
- Content: Prompts, collections, tags, titles, and other content you create or upload
- Communications: Messages, feedback, or inquiries you send to us
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Prompt views, forks, shares, optimization requests, tag generation usage, and feature interactions
- Device & Browser Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs
- Analytics Data: Page views, session duration, user flows, and interaction patterns via PostHog, Google Analytics 4, and Microsoft Clarity
- Performance Data: Error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics via Sentry
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: Authentication tokens, session data, analytics cookies, and A/B test assignments
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication Providers: If you sign in with third-party services, we receive basic profile information (email, name) as permitted by those services
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service: Store, organize, and manage your prompts; process AI optimization requests; enable sharing and collaboration features
- Account Management: Create and maintain your account, authenticate access, and communicate service updates
- Payment Processing: Process subscriptions, handle billing, and manage payment methods via Stripe
- AI Processing: Send your prompts to Anthropic (Claude) for optimization and OpenAI for semantic search when you explicitly trigger these features
- Analytics & Improvement: Analyze usage patterns, improve features, test new functionality, and enhance user experience
- Security: Detect fraud, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect against security threats
- Legal Compliance: Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights
- Communications: Send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, billing notifications) via Resend
4. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
We share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service:

Important: When you use AI features (Optimize, Tag Generation), your prompt content is sent to Anthropic or OpenAI for processing. These providers may temporarily process your data according to their own privacy policies but do not use it to train their models (per our enterprise agreements).
4.1 Other Disclosures
We may disclose your information:
- Legal Requirements: To comply with court orders, legal processes, or governmental requests
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, property, safety, or that of our users or the public
- With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent
5. Public Content
When you choose to share prompts publicly via the Gallery feature, the following information becomes publicly visible:
- Prompt title, content, tags, and metadata
- View counts, fork counts (if enabled)
- Your username or display name (if set)
Do not share prompts publicly if they contain sensitive, confidential, or personally identifiable information. You can make prompts private at any time.
6. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained until you request account deletion or 2 years of inactivity
- Prompts & Content: Retained until you delete them or close your account
- Analytics Data: Aggregated analytics retained for 13 months; raw logs for 90 days
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations
- Backup Data: Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 30 days
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Portability
You can access and export your data at any time via the Settings page (Export as JSON feature).
7.2 Correction and Deletion
You can edit or delete your prompts, collections, and account information through the application interface. To request full account deletion, contact us at hello@aipromptlibrary.co.uk.
7.3 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can opt out of analytics tracking by:
- Using browser privacy settings or extensions (e.g., Do Not Track)
- Disabling cookies in your browser settings
- Opting out of Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
7.4 Marketing Communications
We do not send marketing emails. All emails are transactional (account notifications, billing updates).
7.5 Your Rights Under GDPR (EU Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how we use your data
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and core functionality (cannot be disabled)
- Analytics Cookies: PostHog, Google Analytics, Clarity for usage analysis (can be disabled)
- Functional Cookies: Remember preferences, A/B test assignments
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Service.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Secure authentication via Supabase with encrypted passwords
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
- Regular security audits and monitoring via Sentry
- Access controls and least-privilege principles
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
For EU users: We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and adequacy decisions where applicable to ensure appropriate safeguards.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@aipromptlibrary.co.uk.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated policy with a new "Last Updated" date
